REDBURNaABSTRACT: Retina putative neurotransmitters, namely, acetylcholine (Ach), gamma-aminobutyric acid (GABA), dopamine (DA), and several amino acid putative
neurotransmitters, concerning their anatomical distribution, their synthesis, storage, release, action, termination of activity, and their electrophysiological properties in the retina are reviewed.
