A MEAN SEA LEVEL EVENT IN THE GULF OF THAILAND

ABSTRACT: In March, 1985, a change in the instantaneous mean sea level of about 0.5 m caused floods at Songkhla and Bangkok, some 1000 Km apart. This event demonstrated clearly the role of the instantaneous mean sea level in the end of year floods occurring in Bangkok at the end of the wet season.
