Insight into the finger drop of banana

ABSTRACT:     Bananaisoneoftheleadingcropsinworldfruitproductionandworldtrade. Itisgrowngloballyintropical and subtropical regions. Bananas are widely consumed and are considered healthy and required for a balanced diet. The post-harvest disorder of finger drop is one of the major threats to the banana fruit industry as it causes economic losses worldwide. Finger drop is a common disorder that is associated with causes that include environmental and genetic factors. This review not only describes the causes of finger drop in bananas which lead to post-harvest losses, but also discusses the biochemical processes involved and practical management techniques that can be used to prevent it and retain premium quality for higher market value.
