A FINITE-PART BOUNDARY INTEGRAL FORMULATION OF AN ELASTIC CRACK PROBLEM

ABSTRACT: We formulate the antiplane problem concerning a finite elastic body with an arbitrary number of coplanar cracks in its interior in terms of a system of boundary integral equations containing Hadarmard finite-part singular integrals. A numerical procedure for solving the integral equations is described. Specific example problems are considered and the numerical results obtained are given.
