A PRELIMINARY STUDY ON THE ANTIFUNGAL ACTIVITY OF 2,4,3',5'-TETRAHYDROXYSTILBENE ON DERMATOPHYTES

Summary: 2,4,3',5'-Tetrahydroxystilbene has been shown to inhibit the growth of Trichophyton
rubrum, Trichophyton mentagrophytes, Trichophyton tonsurans, Microsporum canis, Microsporium gypseum and Epidermophyton floccosum. The minimal inhibitory concentration was 2.0 mM in all cases. It is inactive against Candida albicans.
